The world’s largest drumset “THE BIG BOOM” will be the highlight of this year’s 1st of May festivities in Vienna’s Prater. The gigantic drumkit which measures 6.50m high and 8.00m wide (21x26 ft) was originally set up with all its parts – bass drum, snare, toms and cymbals.

The estimated 300’000 visitors on this day will certainly be fascinated and impressed when they see this mammoth drum kit.

4 Drummers Needed

Due to the massive specs of the drumkit, four drummers will team up to play it which makes this project rather difficult. The challenge will be especially difficult because each player has to synchronize their rhythmic patterns with one another while jumping around in 6m height.

But, who are the Performers?

After playing many events for Red Bull and the Alpine Ski Worldcup, the four drummers of Drumarctic used the Austrian TV-Talent-Show “Die Grosse Chance” to become a sought-after show act throughout Europe.

The World-Premiere

The world-premiere starts at 1pm on the 1st of May at the Rondeau, in the middle of Vienna’s Prater. Two different performances (one per hour), will continue throughout the afternoon and evening rocking the Prater and getting everybody to dance. The grand-finale will be a big firework in rhythm with the drum show at 10pm.

Whether young or old, musician or none-musician – “The World’s Largest Drumset” must be seen!

Every day the "FAB 8" rocked and played on the AGORA stage. „The legendary Jam-of-the Year“ Band was made up of Bobby Kimball (TOTO), Tommy Denander (guitarist, f.ex. Michael Jackson), Bruce Gaitsch (guitarist, f.ex. Richard Marx), Curt Bisquera (drummer, f.ex. Tina Turner), Jimmy Kresic (RMC) and Jekko S.

The new GEWA digital piano took centre stage. Both the 6-times Grammy winner Bobby Kimball and the keyboarder Jimmy Kresic impressed the audience with legendary songs like "Africa" or "Hold the line".

The Polish boutique manufacturer Laboga presents its most recent offspring: The Beast 30 Plus! The two-channel tube amp – equipped with four EL84 and two 12AX7 tubes – has an output power of 30 watt. Here the „Plus“ compared to the little brother Laboga Beast becomes noticeable. If necessary the power can be reduced to 15 watt per switch. Thus, the Laboga Beast 30 Plus has plenty resources for gigs on bigger stages, but can also show its power in small settings. The clean-channel provides a voluminous, three-dimensional and pearly clean-sound. By using the integrated Gain-Boost you will also achieve dynamic crunch sounds. The second channel covers the spectrum of Hard'n'Heavy riffs to lead sounds full of sustain. The Gain-Boost for the clean-channel and switching between channels can be carried out by using the optional pedal. In addition, a serial FX-loop is available.

Thanks to the integrated Recording-Out it is no longer necessary to put a microphone in front of the amp when on stage or in the studio. On top, the head phone exit prevents stress with the neigbours. By using the Powersoak, the power amp is not simply switched off, but merely quieted down at the speaker exit. Nevertheless, there will be no sound loss of the power amp signal.

The Laboga Beast 30+ is available as Top or Combo equipped with a Celestion Seventy 80 12 inch speaker.

VGS Guitars sets out to produce a T-style model - the mother of all solid body E-guitars. As can be expected of VGS the VGS SkyCruiser VTC-100 is not only a simple replica. The body design and the neck-body-joint have been optimized to enable easy reach to the upper frets. Money-saving bass players can now also enjoy a VGS Cobra bass. The 4-string of the Select Series shows up in elegant satin black. Underneath is a solid Nato body. While the „Kalawao“ model has a Flamed Okoumé body, the „Halulu“ shows off a spectcular Spalted Maple body. The sides and back of the „Mauna Kea“ are made of Rosewood, the top is solid Spruce.

The Korean guitar manufacturer Cort joins forces with the renowned American pickup guru T.V. Jones. The pickups made by T.V. Jones are immensely popular with Rockabilly guitarists, but also fans of distorted, dynamic Hard Rock, alternative and Brit-Pop sounds will enjoy them. After successful cooperations with boutique bass manufaturers like Sandberg and Curbow, the guitar range has been expanded by the Cort-Sunset-Line, based on the TV Jones Spectra-Sonic series. Flagship is the Sunset I that comes equipped with an original TV Jones Classic (neck) and an original TV Jones Classic Plus (bridge). True to style an original Bigsby vibrato is used. With TV Jones Ltd pickups and a Tune-O-Matic bridge the Sunset II is slightly downgraded. Both models have a partly concave Mahogany body with Spruce top and a set Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard. In addition, the Sunset I features an f-hole. Cort Guitars presents the MR1200FX, the new flagship of the well-known and popular MR-series. With it, Cort succeeds in offering a boutique acoustic guitar made of premium woods, with a classy look and excellent sound in an affordable price range. The Dreadnought features a solid Bearclaw Spruce top, solid Rosewood back and sides, a Rosewood fingerboard, abalone binding and genuine abalone inlays on fingerboard and headplate. For electric use the MR1200FX is perfectly equipped with the acclaimed Fishman Prefix Premium SOB. With Vintage Grover Gold machine heads another reliable product of quality is used. Thanks to the Cutaway also the higher frets can be reached without problem. The MR1200FX is the first in a series of new luxury boutique guitars by Cort. The Cort Signature Model of Gene „The Demon“ Simmons - bass player at KISS - is now also available as E-guitar. Equipped with two original Mighty Mite on a Basswood body, bolt-on Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard, it comes with a crisp, rich rock sound - „Hotter Than Hell“. Hence, the Gene Simmons line by Cort now consists of three instruments: the GS-Punisher-2 bass, the GS-AXE-2 bass and the GS guitar AXE-2.

KISS together with its co-founder Gene Simmons has sold more than 100 million records. This makes KISS one of the most successful rock bands of all times and has inspired countless musicians. With their extravagant stage outfits and their bombastic shows, they are not only know among rock fans!

The almost legendary Cort Curbow basses are now completely made of wood. The Luthite body of the Curbow basses has been replaced with Maple. Also the fingerboard has been overhauled in reverence to traditional bass building: instead of ebenol Rosewood is used. The extremely comfortable design and the high-grade electronics – incl. slap contour switch – made by Bartolini remain the same. Besides the present single pickup mounting there is now also a version with two Bartolini MK-1 pickups available. The basses are still offered as 4- and 5-string models. Tradition also prevails when it comes to colours: In addition to black, the updated Cort Curbow basses are also available in brown sunburst.

As the name already reveals, the basses were developped by the legendary American bass designer Greg Curbow who has also worked as guitar technician for Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin.

With the Premium 20-SREQ Samba, Miguel Almeria offers a „somewhat different“ electro-acoustic classic guitar. What sets it apart is the neck: with a nut width of 48 mm and the arched fingerboard it distinctly differs from traditional classic guitars.

Players of electric and acoustic guitars will also feel more comfortable thanks to the modified dimensions. Another upside: when you are on stage and often need to switch between steel string and classic guitar you do not have to readjust every time. On top of that, the Rosewood body in conjunction with the solid, selected Spruce top makes for a unique listening experience. Whoever said that everything is said and done when it comes to picks sure did not count on the American pick manufacturer Clayton. Numerous innovative products prove that the end of the rope has not been not reached yet.

An excellent example are the Nutone Picks made of polymerised protein – a perfect substitute for the original tortoise shell of the Hawksbill turtle. The picks are especially apt for playing acoustic guitar and provide punchy basses and clear treble tones. The natural „lubrication“ of the material allows for fast and elaborate playing.
